Why the Isis Dress is so special: It’s one of my favorite garments that I’ve ever made. From fabric hunting in Barcelona, working on the design and pattern making, to cutting all the fabric and sewing it piece by piece. The fabric is dead stock viscose which has a floral print. The sleeves bring a romantic / dramatic touch to keep going through the day. The cherry on top? the endless handmade buttons on the front center of the dress. Here’s WHY:

The buttons are covered up with matching fabric one by one, by hand, at a “merceria” - a local haberdashery where my grandmother used to always go to for many years. And yes, even stitching up aaaaall those buttons on each dress feels somehow like a meditative process.
