Siwa Necklace

€120.00

SIWA an exquisite necklace inspired by the sunken ruins of Herakleion.

From Legend to Reality: Thonis-Herakleion, an ancient Egyptian city submerged beneath the sea, near the Canopic Mouth of the river Nile. Its legendary beginnings go back to as early as the 12th century BC, mentioned by ancient Greek historians. During the Ptolemaic period, when the Greeks ruled with the Egyptians in the old capital of Alexandria (Egypt), Herakleion knew glorious times as the obligatory port of entry to Egypt for all ships coming from the Greek world, and for playing an important role in rites associated with dynasty continuity and sacred temples as the temples of Amun and Herakles. Thonis-Herakleion underwent diverse natural catastrophes, and finally sunk entirely into the depths of the Mediterranean around the 8th century AD. Since then, this underwater city remained a mysterious legend, until its rich heritage came back to life when it was discovered again in the 2000s.

Designed with vivid chrysoprase gemstone and carefully selected for its radiant green hue, its translucent surface seems to shimmer with an otherworldly light, like the sun's rays dancing on the waters of the Mediterranean. The chrysoprase stone, is a symbol of growth, renewal, and connection to the heart.

Crafted with a silver shell clasp as a reminiscent of the ocean's mysteries and the city's sunken treasures, wearing this necklace is like stepping into history, connecting with lost worlds and the enduring beauty of the Mediterranean's past civilizations.
